Imagine for a second that you have a medical condition that affects your breathing.
Now imagine having a medical condition where your heart and lungs aren’t working together properly, leading you to need a double lung transplant.
Now imagine that when waiting for a set of lungs to become available you had to be placed in a medically induced coma to keep you safe while you waited…
Now imagine that having had a double lung transplant things didn’t quite work properly…so you required a second double lung transplant.
Now imagine that with all this going on, your one true passion in life is singing…it’s what makes you feel alive…and a doctor had told you that singing might kill you.
How would you feel?
What would you do?
Well, this was the situation that Charity Tillemann-Dick was in…but it didn’t stop her. Having had a double-lung transplant she was determined to retrain her muscles and body to find her voice again.

Being a singer myself, I cannot imagine being in the position that Charity found herself in, and I have so much respect and inspiration for her strength, determination and courage to rediscover her voice in circumstances where others might have given up.
So I would like for you to join me today in acknowledging and celebrating Charity and her beautiful voice…and to help me to spread the word of her story, which I’m sure will inspire many others.
As you know, I would love to acknowledge, honour and celebrate the women who have inspired you as well. So if there is someone that you believe should feature as a Fabulous Friday Female, then send me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) with 3 simple details:
