Today’s Fabulous Friday Female is Georgia Mackenzie!

Fabulous Friday Female, Georgia MackenzieToday’s Fabulous Friday Female is Georgia Mackenzie.

As I mentioned when I started doing the Fabulous Friday Female, this project is a group effort and I wanted to acknowledge and celebrate not just the women who inspire me, but also those who inspire YOU.

So a huge thanks goes out to Cate Mackenzie who stepped forward and asked me to feature her sister Georgia as one of our Fabulous Friday Females.

Here’s what Cate had to say about Georgia:

Why is she a Fabulous Friday Female to YOU?

My fabulous Friday Female is my sister Georgia Mackenzie. She is one of the greatest manifestors with the biggest heart ever. An accomplished Theatre, TV and Film star she is also a devoted mum, sister and daughter. What is so noticeable about her is that she is very generous and when she got her first film role she gave a significant cheque to me and to our sister Tara. She has completely supported me and encouraged all aspects of my career from my coaching to my art and especially how to present for the camera. An incredible belief in the power of creativity defines her and when she visions things they happen, often very quickly. Being around her always takes me to another level of confidence and possibility in myself. If I ever doubt myself, a good chat with her will put me on track. Purdy, her daughter, is one of my most favourite beings in the world because she is so fully herself. Purdy seems to have no fear and says “Hello” everywhere and anywhere connecting neighbours, streets and cafes alike. Georgia gives her a lot of time, love and freedom and has taught her to believe in herself.

A motto for Georgia could be “trust and share” as she continuously gives knowing that as we give we receive. Through her I have been to the Centre Court at Wimbledon, ITV1 autumn launch, many first theatre nights and met all kinds of stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Miller and Peter Andre. She is enormously good fun, very cool and glamourous and yet takes her work very seriously. Georgia is powerful, courageous, encouraging, loving, talented, thoughtful, creative and magical as an actor. Even though she is my sister I am transported when I see her work. She chooses parts that change lives and make a difference. Often she has mirrored back to me my own career choices -I am a Love Coach and I have run workshops in many Community Settings- she has played a teacher working with deprived children, a VSO in Africa and was recently in a play about relationships.
This always reminds me how actors have the possibility to galvanise and shift our perceptions about life. They can bring us to understand situations we might otherwise never experience.

When she left Central School of Speech and Drama she had immediate film success and the school carved her name into their steps in between Laurence OIivier and Cameron Mackintosh. Two of my favourite of her roles was as Sarah Beckenham in the BBC’s BAFTA nominated series “Outlaws” and also Jackie Haggar in ITV’s “Hot Money”. She played Sally opposite Kris Marshall in the rom-com “Catwalk Dogs” and on the big screen she has been seen as Teri in “Franklyn”, as Paola Fonseca in “Possession”, as Jane Graham in “The Kovak Box” and as TV chef Kathy King in “Steel Trap”. Recently she was seen as Susie Bellingham in “Midsomer Murders” and as Joanna Poynter in Vexed. She has just finished a run of an American romcom on stage in London.
